Angry Power steering return hose still leaking after replacing power steering parts.

Hey y'all, so randomly my power steering return hose started leaking out of the connection between the end of that hose and the nipple that is part of the power steering pump. It has a hose clamp to secure the connection. After replacing the return hose i noticed it was still leaking, so I replaced the power steering pump as well, assuming that it had to be one of the two.

*So i have already replaced literally EVERY part that has to do with steering (gearbox, tie rods, tie rod ends, steering stabilizer), except the steering shaft itself. Everything on the truck for steering is new and standard replacement parts. *

Anyways, the truck STILL leaks power steering fluid out of the connection between the return hose and the pump's nipple where it connects to the hose. I put new hose clamps on and it still leaks, even double-clamped and being tightened down all the way. The majority of the fluid leaks out when the truck is not running, so overnight or during my work hours.

I would typically ignore this problem and keep the fluid topped off hoping that it disappears within a few months, however ALL of the fluid leaks out over time, and I hear the dreadful whining sound coming from the pump when I'm turning.

I'm just curious what the best solution is now, since I replaced the "problematic" parts, and i am now double clamping the connection between the hose and the pump. Think I should use any glue or sealant? I have already tried power steering stop-lead frm Lucas oil, it don't work. thanks yall.

Are the hose clamps the correct size? You may want to try a t bolt style clamp, They provide better sealing than the standard style clamps.

Are you sure you got the correct return hose with the proper inside diameter? If the hose fits loose on the pump nipple, you may have been given the wrong return hose..

I got the one that autozone said was correct for my truck. It looked identical to the OEM hose, and had the same connection to the steering gear box. I'll try out a few different hoses now that you mention it.

SIDE NOTE: for some reason my truck does not have a power steering fluid cooler or something like that? I have seen others with the same truck that have one but mine does not.

PS cooler came with the various heavy duty/towing packages. If you don't have any of them, you won't have the cooler either.
