Default DIY Headliner?

Has anyone here ever had to make their own headliner? I'm talking about the molded headliner panel. When I got the truck it was missing and I cringe every time I think about shucking out around $350 for a new replacement.

I saw a few vids on YouTube where guys have made their own (with varying results), but one guy in particular made one restoring a classic car and it looked great. Made me think it might be possible to make one and look decent.

Just wondering if anyone here has ever done it?

I haven't done it. Have you considered extracting a headliner board from a 2nd gen truck at a pick & pay salvage yard?

I have... but they're few and far between in my area for some reason. A couple that I did hit on are either mostly gutted already or in worse condition than no headliner at all. I do plan on making my rounds, calling them to check in from time to time to see if anything turns up -- but so far, no luck.
