I have a 1998 Dodge 2500 gas without cruise control or radio. Need New clockspring. Clockspring with cruise control costs about $50 from many sources. Clockspring without cruise control costs over $250.
Can I use the clockspring with cruise control and ignore or not connect the cruise control connectors????? Would save much money and easier to get. Parts company will not answer and I knowledgeable old mechanics will not talk through the service department. Thanks RC

 

Have a look at the pinouts for the connectors for each. (download the service manual for your truck from here.) It's entirely possible that will work.... No idea why the 'simpler' clockspring is so much more expensive...
