Central TIming Module
Good Morning All.
1996 2500 Diesel 4x4.
I am chasing a number of electrical issues on the old girl (radio flickers, headlights not working properly, power door locks inop, etc.). Web research has led me to possibility of bad Central Timing Module (common to many of the issues).
On the forum, most of the posts are for later year Durango and Dakotas. Additionally, I have an digital version of the shop manual and a work search for "CTM" reveals nothing. My questions are: Did the 96 Ram have one of these modules? Where is it located? Is there a multi-meter diagnostic that can be run once removed from vehicle? Anybody know, other than a JY someone who has one of these if bad?
Apologies if I've missed something or breached forum protocol, just signed up this morn so as new as you can get.
TY in advance for any information someone can shed.
Cheers.

96 doesn't have a CTM. That was an advent of the 98 model year, (or even, the 98.5 mid-cycle refresh....) Headlights switches are notorious for getting hot, and melting, causing some truly interesting issues, if you have the clearance lights on top of the cab, it's even more likely.
Power door locks are an entirely separate circuit, so, that is likely an unrelated problem...

There was a recall on the 3500's but should have included the 2500's also. With the added lights it puts more draw threw the switch and it heats up and melts the connector/switch. I just changed mine a second time. Remove the headlight switch and have a look, Bet it's melted.
