It wont start!!!!!
Hey yall replaced the steering column on my 2nd gen Ram after it was broken into but now it wont start at all. The engine doesnt even crank. I was wondering if could be a security issue or if it could possibly be an issue with the steering column
What's the year, make, model and engine used in your truck? Did you find a used column from the same year truck as yours was? Did all of the wiring of the new column match up to the old column? Did you check to ensure that no fuses were blown?
Though late model 2nd gens had a security alarm, I don't recall them having an immobilizer feature that would cause that. I would guess as mentioned you're missing a connection or a blown fuse. What else was damaged? Did they steal the radio? IF so could've popped the IOD fuse, though I don't remember if that has an connection to the ignition system.
Does the key turn on everything else, radio, blower, gauge cluster, dinging, anything? If a manual did the NSS switch on the clutch pedal get disconnected or damaged removing the column?
