Quick tire size question
Hey guys,
My truck has 245/75R16 tires on it and when I went to the tire store the sales guy quoted 265/75R16s $200 cheaper for 5 tires. Any problems changing tire sizes? The only thing I can think of is it will lift the truck a little and the speedometer might be a little off, but I don't know how much. Is it that big of a deal or am I over thinking this?

The 245 and 265 are how wide the tread is. 20 mm is a little over 3/4 of an inch. The tires might rub at full lock but it shouldn't be much. The side profile might only be 1/2 an inch. Personally, I'm proud of my Scottish ancestry and am known to be chea...er...thrifty. I'd go for saving $200 on 5 tires so fast I'd smoke my sneakers.
I've also got a car with Scottish brakaes that will stop on a dime........and pick it up.
It would be helpful to know the year, make and model of the truck (and if it's 4x4) you're planning the tire upgrade for.
As per https://tiresize.com/tyre-size-calculator/, the tires spec out as follows:
245/75R16 - 30.5" tall and 9.6" wide
265/75R16 - 31.6" tall and 10.4" wide
265/75R16 was a stock size for many 2nd gen Ram trucks and should fit fine. The tire size change may affect your speedometer, but that can be remedied depending on the year, make and model of the truck. You can verify the speedometer by checking the truck with a GPS unit after the tire size change.
