I tried searching through various links and pictures online but was not able to come up with a definite answer. I just ordered a remanufactured nv3500. The tail shaft is different than the one I just pulled from my 99 1500 ram and the shifter location is not as far forward either. Am I correct to assume that they sent me a NV3500 from a dakota? Thanks
Just for giggles, I have done a little research on the T-5 transmissions that both Ford and Chebby used ..... Depending on if the transmission is going into a mustang or a ranger .... camaro or s10 ..... the shifter location is different. .... they also have a normal and a WC (world class) .... the difference is the gear ratio between gears .... A camaro would have gear ratio closer together to make it sporty.
Same thing with the NV3500, I have one in my 1991 chebby 1/2 ton truck. And Dodge uses them also ..... I imagine there are several different versions of the NV3500.
When I first read this post a few days ago my first thought was to check the bolt pattern on the bell housing ..... Does it even fit a Dodge motor?
These transmissions are used in multiple vehicles ..... obvious from the photo it was the wrong replacement transmission.
