Default Brake Light & ABS light issue

I’ve been having a strange issue with my parking brake indicator as well as the ABS indicator. Roughly 50% of the time I start my ‘98 1500 5.2l, I get the ABS & parking brake indicator. The other 50% of the time, the parking brake indicator works as intended (light when I pull the cable).

So my question is — what’s the deal? Got to be something electronic right? Is this a common issue? Sorry if this is already a thread.

I'd find a way to pull the ABS codes, which isn't easy on these trucks.

There's a good chance your ABS module needs to be rebuilt if you want the lights to go away. Typically you'd send it off to a specialty service if so
