Mines is doing the same thing I will be on standby until we can figure this out.
Mines is a 2001 5.9 1500 2WD.

it sounds likes a pump is failing or a reservoir is empty. I checked all of reservoirs and everything is full. Any suggestions on the which pumps we should be looking for? I have also been considering replacing the drive shaft.

last thing, the oil gauge is stuck at 3/4 full.I’ve only have the car for about 5-months. So, only 2-oil changes have been done on this truck and the needle does not moved.

Don't just replace the pump, rebuild the whole trans, otherwise, you will be right back in the same position in a couple days/weeks.

Fluid looks 'chocolatey'??? That is not a good sign.... It's burnt.
