The dana 70 I am offered at $2oo fuel included does not seem like a bad deal if it is tight and not full of metal. I Have seen axles sit and rust gouge axle housings on seal surfaces. I have sleeved such axles.
It's been a nickel and diming truck that you always think you have sorted. Thanks for the input all. Looked at a bunch of rebuild vids, and this man knows his limits. Gonna have to be plug and play.
