Hello, I have a 1999 Dodge ram 1500 4x4, and the 4wd won't engage, the guy who owned it before me put in a Posi-Lok Axle Shaft Disconnect Conversion. Could this part be not working and that's why my 4wd isn't working, any tips or advice welcome, will add a picture of the part of someone wants.

Is the switch still on the cad in front? (it should be, if the kit was properly installed.) What makes you think it isn't working?? Does the light in the dash come on?

No the light doesn't turn on and I don't feel the front engage into 4wd
Are you pulling the PosiLock to engage it? You must do this manually in addition to pulling the t-case lever. When properly adjusted these work pretty well.
Is the 4x4 operated by electric or vacuum? If it is vacuum check the vacuum hose behind the throttle body and going down under the cab. The early years the exhaust would melt the vacuum hose.

I don't know why people put them on, Never had any issue with the vacuum setup (except when one of the metal vac lines rusted). He needs to see if the shift fork is being moved and the cable is adjusted correctly.

I had a problem with condensation accumulating in the lines, and then freezing...... front axle wouldn't lock in. Had to put the truck in the garage, point the torpedo heater under it, thaw things out, then blow out the lines..... Of course, I discovered it wasn't working, when I needed it the most.
