I have purchased a new starter for my truck, went to turn it on and it does not disengage off the pinwheel , i have a fairly new ignition switch and new starter cable in it and a charger battery , but when i start it it continues to try to start and makes a loud screeching sound, and when i turn the key to off the starter continues to try and start the truck so i disconnect the battery, i am lost at this point, was starting perfectly fine, i cleaned the grounds and connector to my starter and still is not working properly , if anyone can guide me to help me fix it that would be greatly appreciated!

I drive a 99 dodge ram 1500 5.2L

 

You need to determine if the problem is in the ignition switch or the relay. Sounds like the relay is sticking.
