01 1500 5.9 "bucking" while driving
@Los_Control I was fallowing your train of thought, you just mentioned the parts you used. I just need to get my poor girl back up and running smooth. if it means tossing money at a truck I love, so be it. I keep most of the parts I pull off and keep in a box because I like to horde crap. so if it not busted I'll still have it.
Also note: I will not be able to make updates in my endeavors till Monday, my home pc for gawd knows what reason hates this form and wont log in. so I'll update and then and see how the truck is doing.

@Sir_RAMseyII I want to apologize for even mentioning a crank sensor .... was just meant to be a example of what I'm replacing my sensors with .... NTK.
Reading about your issue, I do not think a crank sensor is your problem .... it would have different symptoms I think.
I did mention crank sensor for a option of what I run for sensors .... thats all I meant .... I doubt your issue is a crank sensor.
I just want to be clear on this. .... I'm a idiot and thought my issue might be a crank sensor .... but the NTK sensor installed was good.
I'm only saying NTK has worked for me.

Can you hook up an OBD2 scanner and an app like Torque so you can watch live sensor data when it starts running rough? OK, maybe not a good idea when driving solo down the freeway but maybe w a friend riding shotgun. Perhaps you have a wiring contact issue with a sensor (MAP, IAC, etc). I would think you'd throw a CEL code in that case though ...
Hello long time... "LIFE" and apparently Firefox hates this form... idk privacy settings anyways.
So its been about a month and I have not had a chance to touch my truck with all the spare parts I have sitting in the back seat with all the weather preventing actual work (rain, rain, more rain, ice cold winds bla bla bla)
In the past month I've had the truck "buck" 2 times and was starting to think I need to come in figure out my Efffffing log in and tell yall its good but, Allas all is not good. On my drive to go pick up my R/T Durango I needed to drive over a small mountain pass. nearly the entire time climbing the hills it was like riding a horse in a rodeo. I did a super safe and smart thing and had a ghost video the cluster and what the instrument panel was doing during the "bucking" (defiantly was not me). Is there a way to attach a video from a phone to hear possibly see how the cluster was acting?

I was reading some other threads and sorts, and I found a lil bit speaking about the torque convert "locking and unlocking". would that cause "bucking" like symptoms, and does that sound possibly like what I'm experiencing? I'll also get that video up on my YouTube and post it here when I get a chance.
TCC bounce is only about 200 RPM, and you likely wouldn't even feel it. If you are paying attention (or, like me, overly paranoid....) you *might* feel it, see the the tach twitch. Bucking though, that you can actually feel, (and more in line with your description) is likely a misfire. In O/D, there is a direct mechanical connection through the driveline, plus the amplification of being in O/D..... so each miss is something you most certainly will notice. When I had two plug wires crossed, when my truck hit O/D, it felt like it was going to shake itself apart.
SO! A miss fire it was and o'boy was it a misfire issue. I took it into a trusted shop in town and he found misfires on every cylinder but 1. I had a feeling it could have been this but not wanting to work in the cold, wind and rain (our local weather here in WA) I did not look at the distro cap. Sure as can be that thing was in cruddy conduction. I believe this is the root cause, so for now I'll say issue closed. plus the "bucking" has been so few and far between I was about to sacrifice a goat to the Ram gawds. Also commenting on what you said @HeyYou I crossed my plugs as well and that felt like some narly cam that was tuned by "pimp my ride." ANYWAYS! If anything goes south I'll be back but, fingers X its all goood.
Thank you everyone for your input this was fun.

Okay, I know its been a minute or two sense I've posted an update or anything here BUT! I found the issue!!!
Crankshaft Position/Angle Sensor as stated in previous post. I did adversely get one that was not a OEM soooo I may hate life later but thus far no complaining from the truck.
It tossed the code p1391 on a cold morning and I about had a religious moment when I saw that pup up!
Also note: I'd rather be strapped to a poll and power-washed with a fire hose then change that part ever again.
