Looking for the right scanner
I have a 1998 Ram 2500 with the 5.9 Magnum engine and was looking for the right scanner that reads fuel synchronization for my truck. I dont want to buy the wrong one.
Snap-On MT2500 is a good one to get if you plan to keep your vintage truck awhile. It can read & set fuel sync. Check Facebook Marketplace & Craigslist regularly, as they pop up there quite often. You can also check buya.com, as this tends to host inventory for pawn shops throughout the US. Good luck.
The original OTC Genisys (kinda t-shaped) does it as well. However read through this thread first: https://dodgeforum.com/forum/2nd-gen...overrated.html If the truck runs there's no need to mess with fuel sync.
My truck runs good just wasn't sure if there was room for improvement, but I will keep looking for a used scanner you mentioned good to have 👍
I purchased a used MT2500 scanner several years ago, with numerous cartridges, personality keys and OBD1/OBD2 connections for numerous vintage vehicles. Since I plan to keep my vintage Dodge Ram 2nd gen truck that I drive very infrequently for quite some time (unless a nice 4 door Dodge Ram with a long bed comes my way at a very affordable price), the scanner has come in very handy in troubleshooting any 2nd gen truck issues that crop up needing a scanner, along with other vintage vehicles.
Go on TICTOK and search TOPDON, get that scanner download eth app on your phone , it will tell you anything and everything I work for eth state of NC and I use one at work to diag ANYTHING wrong with a vehicle that has a OBD2 syetem
