Default Cluster illumination

I have a 99 Laramie and for some reason the cluster illumination lights don’t work and all of the other lights work too. I think my aftermarket radio also has something to do with it because it’s not powering on. It all started after I had a no bus due to my distributor wire not plugged in all the way and now when my headlights are on I have no cluster illumination. The headlight dimmer has been replaced twice and I’m unsure where to go from here.

I believe there is a separate fuse for those. Check in the fuse block on the side of the dash.

I’ve checked and all the fuses look fine visually

Just FYI, I had one that looked fine visually not too long ago and found out it was bad by checking it with an ohm meter.

I just checked them with my meter and they were fine. I’m stumped as what to do now

Check the ground for the lights.

Don't have a FSM for 99 but in 98 fuse 5 in the inside fuse panel powers all the dash lighting. Check if you have 12V power there when the lights are on. If yes pull the cluster and check power there, and the ground. The radio also gets its illumination signal from the same fuse, and the AC/heater control panel backlight as well.
