Hello, i have a 1996 Dodge Ram 1500 V8 5.9L 4X4 Single Cab, i recently cut off my catalytic converter to sell and after installing new exhaust pipe, re-installing the original upstream 02 sensor, and installing a brand NEW downstream 02 sensor i have recieved a (PO171 code: System too lean bank 1) not sure where to start with this issue ive only worked on a few vehicles in my time. How is fuel pressure? Last time ya had a tune-up? Did you reset the PCM after removing the cat?

Hello, i dont really work on vehicles alot so im not quite sure how to check the fuel pressure, and as far as the tune up goes ive only done an oil change and cleaned up the starter because i had bad connection, i was going to try and reset the PCM but wasnt sure how to. I did replace the downstream 02 sensor though. Thanks for any help👍🏻

You can reset the PCM by disconnecting the battery cables, wait 5 minutes and reconnect them. To check the fuel pressure, connect a fuel pressure test gauge to the test port on the fuel injector rail, then start the engine and read the gauge.
