Huge Vacume Leak From Throttle Body
Whats up everyone,
I have a 2001 Ram 1500. She runs pretty good. But idles like **** randomly and after about 10 minutes of idle I will get a huge vacume leak coming from the throttle body, this is a new symptom, it is coming from the IAC valve port area on TB. I replaced the IAC valve, same thing. And it will sputter randomly and backfire then run perfect. I really think it's a vacume issue but cannot understand why I get the leak from the back of the throttle body like that. I mean it sounds like an actual vacume with the amount of air that's leaking. I thought the new valve would fix it but it didn't. Any help would be appreciated.

Did you fully clean the throttle body before replacing the IAC? If not, I'd suggest removing the throttle body from the intake manifold and cleaning it thoroughly, especially the throttle body well where the IAC piston seats. Before replacing the throttle body on the intake, replace the old throttle body gasket with a new one and see if things get any better. Lastly, check to see if you have a blown intake plenum gasket by checking for oil pooling at the bottom of the intake manifold - more information can be found here - https://dodgeforum.com/forum/2nd-gen...um-thread.html
