Default Timing cover brands

I have a 99 1500 with a 360, I just got my truck out of storage for the winter and noticed that it is leaking coolant. The leak is coming from the corner of the water pump and both the timing cover and pump are very corroded. I am anticipating having to do the timing cover when I tear it apart to see how bad it is. Is there a brand to stay away from for the timing covers on rockauto?

Shouldn't need to replace the cover itself, just the gasket. Don't forget the little bypass hose between the water pump, and intake too.

Good time to do timing chain and gears too.

Avoid Fel-Pro

You may want to just replace the damper at this time, esp if you have the old 2-piece design.

Seal kits will come with or without a sleeve for the damper in case it's grooved, but they're inexpensive enough that I wouldn't try to salvage a damper by sleeving it. I've also never seen one grooved, but on the Magnums they do sometimes come apart.

I have seen the damper come apart and make a groove in the timing cover. If corrosion is all you have it should be able to be removed/cleaned up and use the one you got.
