Default 1995 Dodge ram 1500 5.2 to 5.9

My 5.2 block cracked due to overheating. I swapped it out to a 5.9 360 I do not know the year of truck it came out of. It’s running but it idles at 250 rpm. I haven’t drove it yet or ran it for that long so it may figure it out the next time I’m messing with it. Not sure I don’t know much about dodge. Was wondering if anyone’s done this swap and if I’m going to need a new pcm.

Numerous folks have done the swap, and yes, you need a PCM appropriate to your engine size. Being OBDI, it isn't flash programmable, so, replacement is your only option.

Check eBay or car-part.com for a used 5.9 PCM for a 1995 Dodge Ram 1500. Should be able to find a good used PCM without any issue.

My 5.2 block cracked due to overheating.
Might want to find the reason it to overheated, If it's a clogged radiator the new motor will have the same issue.
