Default New Truck New Issues

First off I want to say Hello everyone again long time no see! I recently bought a 2001 Ram 1500 Sport ORE for $800. It's really clean with only 46,000 miles (still has the factory sticker on the spare tire saying don't go over 50mph). I am using this as a think tank before I start looking into the issue. The truck sat for a good bit as the guy bought it from the auction as it was a no start. He put a fuel pump in it and it starts but won't idle.

No matter what you do it will not idle UNLESS you barely touch the gas and let off and continue to do that. It will allow you to rev to about 3K rpms. He removed the front O2 sensor and cut the exhaust before the cat as he though it was clogged. I am still thinking a fuel issue myself. I attached a pic of the truck.

If you guys have any ideas let me know. Like I said have t even looked into yet. It does start right away (no long cranking) battery is on a charger but holds a charge. I have a video of it running but can't attach that.

That's on the list as I said before I start I am using this as a brain board lol. I don't have much free time these days so when I hit it, I want to go in hard.

Wow. You stole it.

I think draining/cleaning the tank, some fresh fuel, and probably a good throttle body cleaning would be a good place to start. Think I would also plug in with a scanner, and see what the various engine sensors were reporting, particularly the TPS.....

Even at 2K, it STILL would have been a steal.

I thought so! I never seen a spare with the factory sticker. I thought that was pretty cool! From sitting in his yard it will need two doors

The ORE is basically the 'holy grail' of 1500's, and the incredibly low mileage on it...... You can sink a fair bit of money into it, and it'll STILL be worth FAR more than you have invested.

I plan on making it the new daily. I have a line on a Sport ORE single cab short bed and if I get it. This one is getting a pro charger as I ordered it last night lol

NOTHING wakes up a motor like forced induction.

Fix the rust.
