Default 1998 Dodge Ram 1500 5.2 2wd oil pan removal

Does the engine need to be raised to remove the oil pan? Thanks in advance!

On my 4x4 I had to pull the bolts out of the mounts, and raise the engine a ways to get the pan to clear. Starter, and dust shield needed to come off as well.

my 96 1500 4x4 I was able to pull the pan without removing or lifting the motor. Stock suspension

Hit or miss then.
I have a '98 4x4 1500 with a seized engine. They dropped the oil pump to get the pan out w/out lifting the engine. They failed to torque the pump back down when re-assembled.
When it fell off, I bought a clean, Arizona, rust free truck, for chump change. Lots of new parts.
