I am very happy with the improvements.
Shifts are quicker and firmer. It doesn't search for gears. I have a 4 core radiator so everything stays cool. I have not installed the trans temp gauge.
I tow a 6000lb (when empty) toy hauler and no issues. I am very happy with the build. Glad I did it.
What about that stall speed? Most I saw for sale had a higher stall between 2100-2400. Which I thought that seemed a bit high for the powerband of a 5.9 magnum.

When I ordered the torque converter for my 46RE rebuild through Precision New Hampton, they suggested that I lower the stall speed 1200 RPM to put more work on the engine since my engine tends to live in the lower RPM ranges and for towing.
When freeway towing, the engine normally lives between 2500-3000 rpm with speeds up to around 65 mph. Even around town it's at least 2000 rpm and this was the same when I had the stock torque converter. Keep in mind my trailer is on the heavier side of things (for this truck) with a max load capacity is 8500lbs for my truck. These trucks make max torque at 3200rpm
I have shorty headers and cat back. When I am not towing, torque converter still locks up at normal rpm.
This past summer I just got back from my longest trip which was to the colorado river (Pirate Cove) from Los Angeles and it was hot than haties. Engine temps got up to about 210 with the a/c blowing the entire time.
I also shortened my intake runners 3/4" and matched ported my heads to the intake. The throttle body was opened up a little too. I just took out the lip at the throttle plates.
When I am not loaded and just driving around town. The truck has more pep in its step.
So far so good.
I definitely have more get up and go between 3000-4700rpm.
This is the place I plan on ordering from. He has a great video series on rebuilding it also. And he personally answered the phone and answered my amateur questions for about 15 minutes without me even buying anything yet. Great guy.
I used these guys for the parts kit - and their video series - to rebuild my 94 46RH in 2022 (on my Jeep ZJ). It was a complete success and they were very responsive to my inquiries as I was re-building the unit.
A level 2 performance rebuild kit with Raybestos ZPZ clutches. A 46rh Sonnax Sure Cure Kit (read the instructions first) Watch the "Yes you can rebuild it" series first. https://www.transmissionbench.com/46REvideos.html
I question everything they sell on ebay now, There was a thread selling a "mopar" crank sensor there for half of what all the other outlets are selling it for. Plus it's obsolete so not a lot left over. You be the judge and check who's selling it. Like the old Memorex commercial, Is it live or is it Memorex? For ebay is it genuine or is it a China knock off?
