Just change the input shaft or find the correct transfer case, the 231 was pretty easy just pull the front retainer and planetary out, 271 was alot more complicated, have to split the cases and basically gut it out, unfortunately I have not done a 241 if that's what you have, so i cant say for sure how easy it is to change
