They all don't. Our 99 doesn't have one either

Map sensor maybe? This is the only 2nd gen i have ever had to give me this much trouble lol.

Assuming 24vtd stands for 24 valve turbo diesel then yes, diesels don't have a charcoal canister, vent valve or leak detection pump.

So you have a 98 and a 99 both with the 5.9 gas engine and both do not have the leak detection pump ? One is throwing a CEL and the other doesn't ? Something is not adding up.

Neither one have or had them. The 99 was bought new and was never messed with. The 98 looks just like the 99 there is no wiring or vacuum for one
