I have a 95 5.9L that has edelbrock fuel heads a hot cam and some work done to it. I have replaced every sensor on the vehicle to include the engine coolant temp. It also has a true duel exhaust from the headers to the tailpipes It blows a black mist just on the driver's side. The plugs, wires, rotor, coil everything is new. I know it's raw fuel but I dont know what is causing it and it's just the driver side.
I've run the truck without the air filter assembly for a week or so as well to see if a cold air would benefit me and it will, however this has occurred since I built the motor from day 1. It has the stock fuel injectors still and that was my last go to but with cost I didn't want to replace them without knowing that's the issue. Any help is appreciated.
Is the truck still running the factory PCM ? 95 is pre-obd2 so you might no have scan tool for it but I'd look at O2 readings and fuel trims. It could be a leaking injector but as you said it's an expensive gamble.
It is the factory pcm. I wish I could find one of dodges high-performance pcms they made back in the day. It's even harder for my truck because it's a 5 speed so no go for that.
I will upgrade the wiring harness and pcm to an 96 or 97 and get a tune so it will meet the potential of the motor. Need to wait until it warms up here in Idaho before I tackle that. Right now alot is being left on the table with my build due to obd1. I have 0 codes at least key cycle wise as I dont have a scanner. I wish I did it's so easy to read fuel trims and everything on obdII with my other scanner but this one just isn't that easy.
My o2 sensor Is new and I had a bung made for it for my x pipe to make it a true duel exhaust. Couldn't put it anywhere else to get a reading from both banks. Not sure if that's caused an issue or not.

Hmm the truck should have had two O2 sensors from the factory. What did you do with the other one ?
On a 95?
Wasn't it just the 'heavy duty' version that had two?
With all the internal changes to the engine, the stock PCM isn't going to have a clue. As for blowing raw fuel out the exhaust...... Cylinder misfire? Injector stuck open?
It just had 1 o2 sensor from the factory. And it's not misfiring at all she runs amazing. I'm wondering if it just needs new injectors and a swap to a 96 harness and pcm and then a tune to sort it all out.

Put fuel pressure gauge on it, cycle the key a couple times to build pressure, then let it sit, see how quickly pressure bleeds off.

My bad, you're right the light duty only has one O2 sensor. Which makes it even more puzzling because the banks are not metered/controlled separately. Still would be good to know what the sensor is reading.
