Two sensors.... That's what the one wire sensor is seeing. Need to plug in with a scanner to see what the pcm thinks engine temp is.

ohh ok I will try, I always assumed because this truck does not have an obd2 port that I would need a special scanner to scan it. I will head to the local auto parts stores to see this weekend and will report backOriginally Posted by HeyYou

Finding a parts store that still has an OBDI scanner may indeed be a problem.... Hadn't considered that......Originally Posted by Jimmydean91

If you plan to keep that truck long term, you might want to see if you can find an old Snap-On MT2500 scanner and the Chrysler/Dodge cartridge that covers that year truck and the adapter that plugs into the diagnostic port. You can find them on eBay, Facebook Marketplace and Craigslist, to name a few sources...Originally Posted by Jimmydean91

I know there are OBD1 to OBD2 adaptors. They allow to use an OBD2 scanner. I have never used it but, worth a shot. Just an idea.Originally Posted by Jimmydean91

So I bought one of those obd1 to obd2 adapters and that don’t work and i can’t find an affordable obd1 scanner for Chrysler. So I told years ago that they changed the thermostat to a cooler one so I’m ordered a 180 degree and a 195 degree thermostat from rockauto and see if that makes a difference. I will keep yall informed and thank yall for your help.Originally Posted by HeyYou

Chrysler had their very own specific plug for the scanner.... they weren't standardized yet then...... Makes life interesting. There is a selection of MT2500 scanners on ebay, just make sure it has the right cartridges/adapters.....
