Default Phantom interior lights.

Recently I've been having issues with my interior cab lights coming on going down the road. For a while, I would open and shut the dorr really hard and it stopped. Now, instead of going down the rough interstate and shaking at speed, I've been having them flicker on in town. I tried the door jamb switches and the drivers door pushes in really easy. The passenger moves smoothly but with resistance.

I'm thinking my door switch might just be worn out. Can anybody think of anything different? 1996 Ram 1500 with 178K on the clock.

Door switches or a melted headlight switch.... Your drivers side switch does sound suspicious.

Just disconnect the switch that will tell you if it's the culprit. High level trim with remote keyless entry can turn on the interior light as well but it seems unlikely to fail intermittently.
