Default Need help knowing if a possible older 46re can replace a 99 46re

Hello new here, I have a 99 dodge 1500 with the pain in my butt 46re lol it's obviously dropped 2nd gears belt tensioner so I have to do a valve body drop but I was wondering if it losing 2nd gears belt tensioner can cause other problems and if a rebuild is necessary at that point. Now off that topic I plan to rebuild the 99 trans if I can put my other transmission in it I have no clue what year it is I know it is a 46re from 96 to 99 now my problem, it is not a 99 so I can rule that out it has the filter with three holes which if I'm correct was used in the earlier model, It has a different pressure solenoid if pictures are needed I can post them after I pull the tans pans but my question is if it's older will it still match up from what I've looked at they both have the same electrical plugs. Is anyone knows I'd appreciate it lol otherwise I'm just going to replace it and hope it works lol or if it doesn't, pull the valve body in the 99 and pray the belt is still good after it's dropped 2nd
(edit: it is a 4x4 and the transmission I have extra is also 4x4)

I didn't think the electronics changed until 2000?? I may be wrong there.

In any event, if they are wrong, you can just swap 'em out with the correct year sensors, and retainer for the governor pressure solenoid.
