Just took a look at my 2006 SLT, bc I had the same problem...i took off the wheel, started hammering away at the mechanism and lubed the hell out of it. After reading a few replies i pulled the handle up and pedal at the same time and thelight went off and stayed off.....2hrs of wasted time for a 30 second fix lol....atleast the whole mech got lubed lol
