Do a search here and you'll find lots about it.

Roughly it is a PCM reprogram that stops pinging. You loose lots of power and some MPG. If you have it there will be a sticker on your PCM that says something about a reprogram. I wanna say its only for 98's, but I could be wrong.

The "death Flash" is the dealers attempt to band aid a problem. It basically retards the timing enough to reduce the ping, and also hurts some of your horsepower as well.
