Just curious of how many quarts of oil my 5.2 takes and what is best to run 5w30 or 10w30? I dont know if the factory calls for one or the other, any help would be fine. Thanks

 

I run 10-30 High Millage, if I remember right its 6 qts

 

I only put 5 quarts in mine...just going by the Owners Manual.

 

Yeah I read somewhere else that it was 5....I got 6 to have one sitting around, Im pretty sure its like 5-5.5....thanks guys!
Also...I know youll hound me for this haha but I assume there is only 1 drain plug? I didnt crawl under the truck yet...I have always done my own oil changes since i was 16 haha...so I know what im doing, but just didnt get a chance to get under the truck yet...reason being is I think i might order a fram sure drain for it and I can get them cheaper from ebay then at an auto store

One plug, 5/8 I believe. I use 5 quarts of Mobil 1 synthetic 10w-30 in mine . Buy it in a five quart jug at Wally World for like 19.95.

 

5 quarts...5.5 with the larger filter

5w in the winter

10w in the summer
