im looking at getting a code reader for my truck im not wanting to break the bank on it thow do those hand held ones work well or are they just a wast also do the say hypertec programers come with a code reader too?

Yes the Hypertechs come with a reader. Some people on here and one so maybe they can give you a review

The Superchips Max Mircotuner is also a diagnostic reader. Haven't had to use it yet, but I can tell you that it does improve performance! And believe it or not, it does give you an extra couple miles per gallon.

why in the hell would you buy a code reader when you can do it for free!!![&:] what year is your truck. you can check your codes through the trucks CEL by turning your key on off on off on off on. then it will flash the codes up

or autozone will do it for free i believe they did mine free

my truck is a 98 will it work on them i thought it was the 00 and 01's that had it?
