Has anyone tried one of these Light Wings?
They bolt on where your front plate holder would go.

there alright its kinda tight to bolt the fight on they dont give you much room they oxidize real quick too

Aluminum oxidizes and pits badly if on the ground level, look what happens to old aluminum running boards. I wonder if the black would do that as badly?

The other thing to remember about bolting aluminum to steel is that you need to put a piece of clear packing tape between the alum and the steel before bolting them together. If you don't, there is some kind of chemical reaction that occurs that causes corrosion. Learned this trick when working on a semi-trailer building line at Wabash in the late 80's

the chemical reaction you are talking about is called "galvanic corrosion" and you are correct it is the reaction of aluminum and steel in the presence of O2 and salt (even just thee trace amounts in the air) just a tidbit of useless info lol. anouther was to prevent this it to put some type of clear coat on it personally i use a product called "Nylac" is is specially for alum
