Default K&N Style

I found this online and I was wondering if it works the same and just as good as those $300 Intake Kits, whats the difference in them?

well the 300 dollar one is designed to help keep the hot engine heat out from the filter.. the way the circular one is designed it draws in heat.. and happens to be directly over the engine.. hot air doesnt help with preformance at all[&:]

but dont get me wrong.. im sure the circular filter is better then any factory setup.. if you cant afford the cold air intake right now.. i'd deffinetly invest in one of those circular filters

I don't know if its because mine is the bone stock 5.2 and not the Laramie SLT, but I have sooo much room under my hood. I can literally sit on my fender and rest my legs in the engine compartment. I have tons of room for the FIPK as well as many other upgrades and mods, which I'm planning.

I swear I responded to this thread I guess not. Check over on Pavementsucks.com they have had this argument several times and a lot of the guys like either the round K&N or the Edlebrock 1002. A few have gone from the K&N CAI to the Edlebrock and say they noticed an increase in power there. It all depends on who you talk to. I put the Edlebrock on mine as I didn't want to pay the price for the K&N especially with all the cracking issues people are having. I can't say I'm crazy about the Edlebrock but I just don't like the loud sucking sound around 2-3k rpms others with the CAI said it's quieter than that. My K&N CAI on my Accord doesn't get loud until 5-6k rpms thats now how it is with this. It did seem to help with power some but not sure if I want to keep it or not as that sound is annoying.
