Default Humming noise in 2001 Ram

I have a 2001 Ram with the 5.2 and 56k miles. When I get to speeds of around 55-70 I hear a humming noise. If I let of the gas the noise stops but as sonn as I hit the gas again it's back. Anyone know what this might be? The noise sounds like it is coming from the rear but I am not 100% sure. Thanks for any help.

i know when the rear was about to go in my old truck everytime i hit the gas it would start humming.. till it got so bad it was clunking.. from putting strain on the gears till i let up on the gas.. ( turned out i drove it all the way home with 4 missing teeth laying in the bottom of the pumpkin) lucky to make it home [sm=hail.gif]
