Check engine light on my Dodge Lamb
I have posted stuff regarding this problem before.
Here's the scoop. I get a CE when I turn on the a/c. The mechanics at the local mopar place told me that the clock spring switch and brake light switch have gone bad due to a short in the pcm.
I cannot believe that is the problem. My lamb was in an accident a couple years ago, 6k on the truck since then. I rarely use the a/c and when I was running it to keep things working a got the CE back in November.
Mopar replaced the pcm back in 02, now it's f....d up the swithces, according to one dealership. Two others say that the clock spring switch and brake switch tie into the bcm not pcm. I swear it's from the accident as I got the sam CE when I got it back from the second shop before mopar replaced the pcm. Now everthing is out of warranty and Allstate is being a dick about paying for the work. The pcm is supposedly $500 and I paid $340 for the switches.
What an expensive yard ornament. How I regret the buying that truck. I have had more parts replaced on it under warranty and post warranty than were in it to begin with to include a steering column, fuel pump, new door due to rust, the brake light leaked, and it goes on and on. I could put the air back sticker on the gove box and you'd think it was just built yesterday. How sad for a truck that I have done all the required maintenance on. Plus I never use overdrive as I know they fail.
My 99 Taurus w/100k is more reliable than my 98 Lamb w/56k.
I am really angry that I spent the money on the Fastman TB, as I am about to set fire to truck where it sits.
Any ideas?

Unfortunately it sounds like your on your own here. Accidents depending on the severity can cause a bunch of gremlins to haunt a vehicle long after the claim is settled. Hard to prove its the accident 4yrs after the fact. About the only thing I can suggest is replace the pcm and trade it in. Depending on what year it is you could probably find a performance pcm used online for a fair bit cheaper than what the stealer wants.
Ebay motors good place to start or all the Dodge chat groups online have FOR SALE forums in them. I have a spare stock pcm for my 96 but not sure what you have? Let me know, some of my buddies may have a stock pcm still kicking around for your year/model also.

the R means remanufactured, that's what the dealer sells. I got the p/n from the local Lamb dealership.
$485 plus the $340 for the other two switches. Mighty expensive a/c problem, huh?

There's nothing Magnum about the Dodge Lamb. When a company sells a vehicle with known problems such as the plenum gasket, the spark/pinging, and the other b.s. that has gone along with mopar ownership, I say they lied big time.
I read posts here all the time about problems with the heads on top of everything else.
Like I tell the dealerships, the government shouldn't have bailed them out in the seventies.
