Default new truck questions

hi all,
just bought a new truck. dodge 2500, 8.0 v-10. one of the catalytic converters rattles. does anyone have any advice as to what kind of exhaust system would look, sound and perform the best? i'd like to get a bit more gas mileage. the truck is a 2000 and has 61000 miles on it. the entire exhaust system is rusted, and probably needs to be changed from the exhaust manifold back. before i bought it, the chevy dealership (where i bought it from) took it to the dodge dealership to check on the converter rattle, but they refused to do anything with it because someone had welded a pipe in front of the catalytic convertor, and they said this voided the warranty.
anyway, glad to be a dodge owner!!

thanks,
bgrass

If the cats rattleing its going bad, which could cause less then optimal MPG. Call the dealer and see if your truck is covered under the extended warrenty.

pavementsucks.com have a fella that dide a 5.9L to a CTD swap in his 1500 .. pretty sick mod... esentially used a 2500 CTD donor truck and turned his 1500 into a 2500.... i think he just did it b/c it would be fun... obviously it would be cheeper and easier to just buy a 2500 CTD outright

if you dont have any luck with the warrenty on the cat... i put in a maganflow higflow direct fit cat on mine form summtracin.com and i love it... makes the truck sound a little meaner then only having the flows on it
