I had a set of Wild Country TXR's on my Chevy truck before I traded it for my Dodge and they were pretty good in the snow. They were an all terrain tire and had a nice look to them. As far as driving in snow was concerned ( I live in Maine) I was glued to the road in 4 wheel drive with them. I want to get a set for my Dodge when I can scrape up the money for them. I believe they were between 5-6 hundred for all 4 in 285/75/16

Today I had an idea, since I am a milkman I figured that since my employer has a ton of trucks that they get a special discount on tires so I asked one of the many bosses there and they had me go talk to the guy at the tire shop they use. They can hook me up with some Cooper Discoverer STT I think they are called for $830 installed and including tax. That is still alot of money but after pricing other places it could be close to a grand for a set. Does anyone have any opinions on these tires? Basically all the shop had were Cooper and Toyo tires so not much of a selection.

I just recently put on a set of Wild Country XTX, they are definately not a big lug MT type but they are nice. Paid $500 out the door with lifetime free rotation.

As far as traction goes, I plowed 8 inches of wet snow going uphill (just had to try it) on about a 10% grade for about 150 yards, that was the end of his paved driveway, and had no problem with it.

 

I call BS on the MT sucking. I have Procomp MT's and me and my friend. ( also has them. ) got up a massive rocky snow covered hill the other day in 2 wheel drive!!!!! i say they work awsome in snow. there alot better then my stock tires that for sure

oh and as for on road. there not loud at all. there better the BFG's because they have sifing and a friend of mine got 35,000 miles out of them on his chevy 2500.

 

Well I got the Cooper Discoverer STT I think they make my truck look pretty badass.

 

According to his info he is from wells. I am originally from searsport but work took me south.
