Anyone know where I can get a salvage yard rear differential for my 2000 ram 4x4 with a 318 engine? How do I find the gear ratio? I am building a house and desperately need this truck. I cannot afford a new one right now otherwise it would not be an issue... Please email me at salty600x@aol.com

 

Gear ratio should be on a tag on your differential housing, or on the equipment sticker in your glovebox/on the under-side of your hood.

As far as a salvage yard, try a local one. I'm sure they'll have some Rams. Good Luck!

I just had a mopar mechanic tell me it is a rear universal joint... Does anyone think a u joint can make a horrendous vibration/grinding sound? I am going to replace it and see it that helps out..
