Default Steering Wheel Cover

I got a steering wheel cover because the top of my wheel had lost its factory finish and had a weird feel to it, almost sticky. I didn't really want one of those cheap slip on ones that you can get at the parts store, I wanted something that fit tight, and was made of leather.
I looked around for awhile, and finally found this from www.wheelskins.com. I went with the EuroTone Two Color with black and grey to match the seat covers I recently installed. The color is an almost perfect match, but I think a one color black might have looked good too. They are made out of leather, and you have to sew it on. Took about 45 min to install. They sell for almost $50 on the wheelskins website, but I got mine for just under $25 including shipping from an eBay supplier (Hubcaps Plus).

Kinda off topic, but yes, it works good. The timing and fuel delivery are adjusted. You can also adjust for tire size to correct your speedometer and odometer. It does not change shift points.

They are seat covers. Here are some posts on them from the past.

The thread appears to be made out of just string (not leather or anything), but it is really thick, and coated in wax so that as you tighten each loop, it holds tight.

My only complaint is that I told the guy when I ordered that I wanted black sting. It looks great on the black leather part, but I wish I had grey string on the grey leather part. I'm going to call them back this week and see if he can send me a roll of the grey string, and I will cut it into those two spots. I think that will look better. I think they must have grey string, because you could order an entire cover in only grey, so they must have the string to match a setup like that. I hope black isn't the only string color they have. If so, then I guess I could go to a local hobby store or fabric store, and see what they have.

When it comes to my truck, I'm used to grease, oil, and wrenchin', not sewing. [sm=bangbang.gif]
