Default Transmission Problem?

Hi everyone, I am new to this site but I have a few questions:

I have a 2001 2500 ram with a V10 with automatic trans. It has 72,000 miles on it.
Over the past few weeks I have been having a little problem with the transmission shifting. If I leave it in Drive and step on the gas it will act like I have my foot on the brake and accelerate very slowly through first. Once into second I don't have a problem. This is really bad in stop and go traffic. If i manually shift it works fine no problem with acceleration? Anyone ever experience this?

Thanks
Don

Yep sounds like the TC. Could be bad completely, a seal bad, or you could be low on fluid. Whens the last tim eyou changed your fluid and filter?

I haven't changed the trans fuild yet. Will be doing that this weekend. I was talking to a few guys this week and they seem to think it is the selinod that controls the TC.

I don't think it's the solinod . that only makes the t.c. lock-up in 3rd and in o.drive. hows your band adjustments?

Went to a transmission shop today. They droped the pan and found that the selinoid was plugged with fiber material from the TC. So it needs a TC.
