Default Fuel Pump problem?

anyone here have problems with their pump running out of fuel at high rpms? mine is real strong up to about 2500 or so rpms and then start to lean out (from what I can tell) until it starts pinging really bad at about 3500 rpms. I'm thinking the pump volume has dropped off.

anyone have this problem?

i'm thinking of yanking the pump and checking the strainer on the bottom to see if it's partially plugged and then go from there. Napa has a pump for $240 and it's in stock so if I yank it and cant find anything, then i'd go get the new pump.

Did you check the connectors at the pump? Does the pump need a better ground? Is something drawing power from the positive wire to the pump? like a short?

Default RE: Fuel Pump problem?

I havent checked anything yet. the way it acts it seems like it's dropping fuel pressure. I cant confirm it because I dont have a hose long enough to prop it up under the hood while I take if for a spin. the only other option would be to install a schrader valve in-line wiht the fuel line which runs by the brake booster...
