Default What do you recomend?

Well spring break for me is going to be full of car work. I'm modding my keg, putting the APS pan on there, doing my shocks, painting my coils, and painting my nerf bars, so I have a few questions.

First shocks. I drive 90% on the road, rarely if ever tow, and want some shocks that will perform good off road when I do hit the dirt. Money is a factor too since I'm on a budget. What are some good ones?

Next is a paint question. I'm painting my coils to be red like the color of my truck. Gonna sand blast them down and paint them. Think I'll do Por-15 as a base, but what should I use for the actual paint? I need something thats really strong and gonna be able to last with the dirt and salt eating away at it.

Also gonna be painting my neft bars and moving them up colser to the body. I painted them last year with some kinda spray paint, forgot exactially what it is was it did its purpose and lasted a little over a year. I want these to be able to take a beating too cause lots of rocks and what not hit them, not to mention the salt. I went and asked how much to get them sprayed with Line-X and the guy said roughly $200! Thats how much new ones are! But of course Line-X would never be worn off or anything. I want something really hard. Have any of you ever used those roll on or spray on do it yourself bed liners?

My truck has the DIY liner stuff, was in when I bought it. Not sure if the guy just did a **** poor job or what but it does not take the punishment that the real deal does. It looks good but it scrapes off rather easy. I would recommend that u stay away from it for your nerf bars.

the outherthing with nerf bars is they tend to rust from the inside out real bad ive seen some crome plated and painted ones that looked nice on the outsise and the owner steped on them and they just bent in half cuz they rusted from the inside so bad. ive used the spray on liners in a can beforeive never used it doe a box liner thow lol i sprayed the bottem of my canoe with it (i know your all gonna laugh at me) but its an auminum one and i fo lost of river trips so it rubs on rocks alot and i wanted something tough but i wasent impresed it goes on fairley thin i ended up doing quite a few coats and the cans arnt cheap

as for paint on the coils you will want something real flexable on my 84 ford (sorry guys but i did upgrade) i had them amoung outher things sprayed with Endura paint but its expensive but i got mine dun for free cuz the shop i worked at used it so i just brought them in on a saterday and they painted them for me
