Default wiring an alternator

Well let me begin. I decided to put an msd aps alternator in my 2001 ram with the 360. This worked out horribly because of the fact that the alternator is so universal that I couldn't get it to line up right, so after a couple of belts and endless methods, I decided to scrap the alternator to ebay. Anyways, I don't have the old alternator anymore so I ended up purchasing a 165 amp alternator so I could overcome the underdrive pulleys and stereo system, the problem is the one I picked up is the older style found on the '94 -'97 with the two pin screw on connector. Since I am replacing the plug in connector harness with the older style I need to know what wire goes where. There are only two wires, a dark green wire from the generator field drive and a dark blue wire from the automatic shutdown relay. Now I don't even know if it can be connected directly with terminals, I've noticed that the stock connector for the older style appears to have some sort of distrobution block or regulator. I don't want to end up blowing the regulator in my PCM, so any information would be greatly appreciated. And oh yeah, don't get the msd alternator for your rig unless you want a huge headache. Thanks
