Default tranny prob (ranting inside)

[:@]now the f-ing rams doing the same damn thing. my wife just called me and told me that the truck didn't want to go. she said it was in drive, but didn't hardly move. this sensor bull**** is really getting on my nerves. wtf do we need all that computer **** for anyway. sorry for ranting i'm just fed up with the suckomatic trannys. i guess i'm gonna need to teach the wife how to drive a stick and get rid of auto all together. i never had this much trouble out of a manual, actually never had any trouble. i assume it's one of the sensors, it never slipped before. matter of fact i put the brake to the floor and punched the gas to see if it would slip and nothing but the tires broke loose. as far as the tranny goes it's strong its just those damn sensors.

I hear yah man. I had my truck for about a year and a half when the transmission went out on me at 68,000 miles. The reverse started slipping and I just got the whole tranny rebuilt at the dealership for like 1,700. I seriously think that dodge should have given us a complimentary spare tranny with the purchase of a new/especially used Dodge Ram. I loved my truck to death but the tranny is what really pi$$ed me off. My dad went through 3 trannys on his 01 off-road. He bought it brand new and sold it when it had 70k on it. And what sucks is that we never did any extreme towing in our trucks.

same here. i've got 108k on mine and the only thing i've pulled is a uhaul with a ranger on it, and that was a long time ago. why couldn't they have just kept the 727 w/o those damn sensors. engine sensors ar fine just keep them off the tranny.

I hear what your saying! I've got 121,000 on mine and the thing is on its 3rd trans. Trans number 3 is now on its 2and valve body. I had an old power wagon with the 727 in it and we used it for pulling stumps out. Never did hurt it. I pull a 25 foot camper with the 46re and it goes to **** in a hurry. Love the truck but hate the trans. This is my first dodge truck and probably my last.
