Default 96 Dodge Ram issues

My truck started acting up today.

I left work at lunch and the truck started running like crap. It bucks and jumps and runs terrible. I went to the gas station and when I left, the check engine light came on and it was still bucking and jumping. It only does this below 2000 RPM. I drove home with the O/D off. When I got home, I noticed the exhaust smelled pretty bad. Is my Cat bad or do you think it is a sensor. I will check the PCM code when I get home.

Thanks,
Jayson

well, I replaced the speed circuit and the check engine light is out and the bucking stopped. Now it just runs rough, like it is missing on a couple cyls. I guess I will get new plugs for it and see if that helps. I couldn't see any bad vacuum lines. They all look pretty new.

dont over look the bad cat idea... if its not nipped in the bud now itll cost your alot in the long run...

if you have access to a temp gun.. find out the input and output temps on the cat.. the input temp should be lower then the output...if its opposite then your cat is plugged and needs to be swapped ASAP!

goodluck
