20dodgeram01, did you stack two blocks on top of each other for your lift? In the picture, the block looks short, so I am assuming they have to be stacked on top of the stock blocks. I have heard that this is not such a good idea. Have you had any problems with it? That is the main reason I wanted an add a leaf rather than the kit you got (I did get my front spacers from them), I didn't like the idea of stacking blocks.

hm this is a dumb question i know- i feel stupid asking it. but i bought my truck used so im not sure. that kit doesnt work with the 'off road' package-- how do i find out if mine has the off road package? ive looked through the owners manual but it wasnt truck specific- is there a code in the VIN? i know the engine size is in the VIN-- so yea i guess my question is whats the best way to find out if my truck was equipped with the off road package?

and i looked at that lift kit you that 20dodgeram1 suggested on topguncustomz.com..... it looks good, and the price even better- but my question is this; the blocks it comes with are only 1.5 inches- so off_road_teacher HAS to be correct- if i took off the stock blocks and put those on it would lower the truck. so off_road_teacher im askin what exactly did you hear about that being bad? i can see how if the U bolt isnt tightened correctly then they could slide around a little bit. [:@]yikes. that wouldnt be good. hm other than that its a good lookin kit

yeah you stack the 1.5 inch block on the stock blocks.. suppose to make it sit level but my back end still sits up about an inch higher. and i havent had a problem with it at all. well the only problem was that they send you u-bolts and no nuts to go with them.. and the factory u-bolt nuts dont line up so it took an extra hour to do cause i had to run to the hardware store[:@] but other then that 1.5 inches doesnt make that much diffrence at all in handling/preformance or anything

muddy_blue_dodge, I had just heard that stacking the blocks is somewhat dangerous because of the forces being put on the rear causing blocks to slip, seperate, things like that. Plus, with the add a leafs being so cheap, it seems like stacking blocks is an unnecessary risk. My truck is my daily driver and the last thing I need is problems becasue of blocks in the rear. The off road package didn't start until 2000, so you don't have to worry about it being on your truck.

yes they came with instructions, and im happy they did because i didnt know you had to unbolt the sway bar to drop the axle all the way down[:@] untill i read them. and also i dont see a problem in stacking blocks.. they're like legos they connect to eachother and then the u-bolts, if tightened down correctly, hold the blocks together and to the leaf spring and axle. really the only way for it to slip off is if a u-bolt was loose or broke.
