RPM jump !!HELP!!

RPM jump !!HELP!!
Ok here is the deal,
I own a 98' ram 4x4 5.9 with auto trans. about 3 months ago i noticed that at cruising speed going down the interstate, my RPM gauge would read a sudden jump of about 300 RPM or so every now and then at highway speed, not shifting into overdrive, but more like the transmission was slipping. I took it to a shop about a month later and they had the TPS replaced. That seemed to do the trick for the harsh jump in rpm, but now my RPM's still raise for no reason, only they slowly increase about 300 rpm or so....ex: at 70 mph, my truck normally runs at 2,000 rpm exactly......but every now and then it will go up to 2,300 rpm, speed still at 70 mph. I had a quick chat with a local mechanic, and he said it could be the Torque Converter slipping, as well as a number of other things. Does anyone agree with that statement that it could be the torque converter, or have any opinions of their own......???
