Default Tire width

I'm going to step up to 33s on a 2000 1500 4wd. It has the stock chrome sawblade wheels, I just need to know how wide I can go with the stock backspacing.

Sorry for new q's- I just made the jump over to rams from jeep.

any wider youll start chewing up bearings left and right... and threw rocks up the side of your truck pretty good

i have 285 75 r16's on my 2001 1500 4x4. they fitted fine with no rubbing at all.. i think their 33x11.5.. maybe 12's

285/75 R16s are 32.83" x 11.2"

Like I said before...still wouldn't go wider than 10" on the stock 6" wide rim. Shott posted some good reasons why not to

16x8 5/5.5 my backspace on the rims I just got is 4 5/8. Factory is 5 im pretty sure. I have 285/75/16 on the stock rims now and have rubbing only when the whells are fully turned.

i have 285's on stock wheels too.. but i didnt have any rubbing at all.. even with the wheel fully cut and going over bumps.. weird. but i have a 3 inch lift on it now so im looking to get 35's soon
