any of you guys take off your front torsion bar and left it off? what and how did it work? make the driving crappy...

reasoin why im asking... i took it off to stand in the bay whield oing some work..and im thinking about keeping it off... oh yyea... also the fact that SOB is BENT!!! yea i say bent...i must have hit something good-n-hard when i was wheelin once...maybe i hit a bulldozer and didnt realize it but i got a nice little curve near the middle and some of the pant is chipped off... im gonna ask the same question over in the pavement sucks forum... i know a few guys that take them off over there...

Um.....2nd Gen Rrams don't have torsion bars. Not the 4x4 ones anyway. It's an independant suspesion component. 1/2 ton 3rd Gens had them for a couple years, but have now gone back to a coil link suspsension I believe. Dakotas have them too. But not the 2nd gen Rams

im pretty sure they do... i just took one off my truck... sway bar maybe? same thing... unless a large bar that bolts to the front of the frame rails and then bolts to a bracket near the coils is called something else... maybe i dont know what its correctly called..all i know is a torsion bar... o damnit! i didnt mean a torsion bar as in the tiorsion bars ... now i remember what a torsion bar looks like

i see where i confused ya guys... i mean the sway link bar thats up front.... up front .... any one know what im talkin about?

the manual says its a stabilizer bar

sway bar. you can have it off but be ready for anything.

u got urs off tani? i dont think itll be a big deal..if the ride really sucks ill just put it back on..

sway bar? i think you mean sway bar.... ive been thinkin about takin mine off, its supposed to help flex a lot. i wonder exactly how bad the ride difference is?

i dont have mine off but i drove my friend and he has his off. just be carefull because alittle wind or something and you will be in another lane.

its incredible that it can make THAT big a difference. but if its easy enough to remove then i guess it can just be done when you know your goin off roading.

and just to double check- ive read a little bit about this before but all you have to do for this removal is literally take out a few bolts, right? no need to jack it up?
